I’ll Show You… Pikmin (GameCube, 2001)

Welcome to another episode of I’ll Show You Mine! This week, James is showing Elyse one of the lesser known Nintendo franchises, Pikmin. The pet project of renowned Nintendo director Shigeru Miyamoto, Pikmin was inspired by the sight of ants walking in unison in his garden. A game unlike many of the others in the Nintendo canon, Pikmin nonetheless spawned several sequels and continues to have a dedicated fanbase.

Join us as we talk about the unique controls and mechanics of this game, how it feels like nothing else that was out at the time, and how dang CUTE it all is.

Our next episode will be June 5th, when Elyse shows James, “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg” from 1964.

Our theme song is by us! James Sparkman and Elyse Wietstock.
