I’ll Show You… Mystery Men (1999)

Welcome to our first April Fools episode of 2020! In April we switch hosting duties and this week, James is showing Elyse a movie, the superhero parody Mystery Men from 1999.

Based on the independent comic series, Flaming Carrot Comics by Bob Burden, it follows a trio of wannabe superheroes attempting to save their home of Champion City when their A-list superhero Captain Amazing is kidnapped.

Join us as we break down the good, the bad, and the ugly of this 90s bomb with a cult following. Was this super spoof too ahead of its time or weighed down by bad jokes and odd direction?

Our next episode will be April 24th, wrapping up our April Fools episodes with Elyse showing James a game, “Dragon Age: Inquisition” from 2014.
