I’ll Show You… Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)

Welcome to the I’ll Show You Mine Christmas Movie Special! This year we’re watching the classic Rankin/Bass stop-motion TV special, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, originally aired in 1964. It’s the story you know from the traditional Christmas song about little reindeer with a shiny red nose, with a little patented Rankin/Bass fantasy thrown in for good measure.

Join us as we talk about the cute characters and voices, marvel at the big swings Rankin/Bass took with their re-molding of the Rudolph story, and notice that the animation team was definitely more bright-eyed and bushy-tailed making this movie than ‘Rudolph’s Shiny New Year’ more than 10 years later.
