I’ll Show You… The Apartment (1960)

Welcome to another episode of I’ll Show You Mine! This week, Elyse is showing James an American classic, Billy Wilder’s The Apartment from 1960, starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine. Insurance agent C.C. Baxter lets his bosses “borrow” his apartment to conduct their extramarital affairs, but things get even more awkward when the big boss wants to use the apartment to take out the elevator operator Baxter has a crush on.

Join us as we talk about the wonderful performances in this movie from the entire cast, the smartly funny yet thoughtful script, and how this is a romantic comedy that doesn’t always go where you expect it to.

**Just a warning that an attempted suicide is a plot point in the movie so we do discuss that a bit in this episode.
