I’ll Show You… Anastasia (1997)

Welcome to I'll Show You Mine! This week Elyse is showing James "Anastasia" from 1997. A Fox Animation Studios film directed by Don Bluth, "Anastasia" is a musical historical fiction about the Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov. In this version of the story, Anastasia survived the Russian Revolution and must remember who she is and find her way to Paris to reunite with the only family she has left.

Join us as we talk about "that Don Bluth feeling", the real history behind the fiction, and get a little real about how even though it is impressive in its own right, we get why Bluth animation wasn't quite as successful as Disney back in the day. Also, James discovers Boney M's "Rasputin."

Our next episode will be October 10th, when James shows Elyse "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX" for the Game Boy Color.
